1995 – 2000 Senior researcher/head of fermentation group, Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Institute of Biotechnology (Prof. Dr. R. Rudolph).

Bioprocess scale-up and scale-down, high cell density cultivation, recombinant protein expression in microbial host with focus on host physiology and difficult-to-express proteins. Automation of process development and high throughput processing. Application of mathematical models in bioprocesses. Process Analytical Technologies. Single use bioreactors for microbial processes.
